My first flight

Hi!

It was the year 2008. The year of Scare for the US Financial System :(
But it was new and exciting for me:) I was going to college! Wee haa!

You know what does it mean going to college? Ask a kid whos just learned walking, how it feels. Or ask a kid whos just learned riding a bicycle. They will be doing those for hours without getting tired at all! That feeling gives me goosebumps. I am excited to be going to college! I will be a grown up now.
The best part - No more uniforms! Yes, the civil dress code! Now I am gonna live like a king and wear whatever I like. At least I will be staying away from the family, but I am gonna have a lot of cool friends just like me.

And I will be staying in the Hostel. I have trained myself enough to wash my own clothes and iron them, to be precise. Everything looks good!

Life's going to be the best for the next 4 years!

And then the day came the counselling result - I am gonna join NIT Agartala. I know its the capital of Tripura (honestly, I did not have to make use of the map). I thought wherever it may be, it will hardly take 20 hours to reach there, by train.

I did not know our country was so so huge prior to this one! We did not have Google maps, or smartphones then. No IRCTC online train booking. But my dad enquired from some of his colleagues how to reach there. He said, You will be able to reach there by taking Train to Howrah and then to Agartala via flight. And it will take 2 days. It was 2 AM, and we set out from Dewas, MP. It was the longest and the most exciting journey for me. It kept me pumped with energy required to run a marathon. I enjoyed the scenic beauty, rains, jungle, new meals everything! We reached Howrah after 36 hours, then took the first flight of my life. It lasted only an hour! But that flight taught me how to fly.
